[00:00:00] Episode 20. Welcome to the Aligned and Thriving podcast for female entrepreneurs where we align systems, strategies and self. For sustainable success. Hello and welcome. I'm your host Jada, and I can't wait to share this week's episode with you. Let's dive in. Let's talk about launch trauma and the anticipation of it being traumatic and the fear that comes up for so many people when they think about launching their digital offer.
Even often before they even have done it before because of what they see around them and what they hear people talking about. Maybe you can relate and maybe you've got some launch trauma. I know I've had some. And also the perception of what [00:01:00] launching is or has to be because I feel like in this online digital space.
There's a lot of, I don't know, stigma. There's a lot of perception around what a launch is and like it's only this particular thing and that you have to do all of these specific things for it to be a launch. Uh, and so I wanted to kind of debunk some of that and also debunk the idea that you need to end up burnt out.
Overwhelmed, have your launches taking over your entire life while they're happening. Um, you know that it's common or well, not common. It is probably common unfortunately, but that it's normal to end up curl up in the fetal position in your bed, possibly for days after you launch. Uh, this is, we don't need to be [00:02:00] doing this, my friends.
There is another way, uh, and. I'm so passionate about supporting you to achieve that other way, because we don't have to have our launches take over our lives. We don't have to have our launcher launches leaving us feeling traumatized because it, it puts us, it, it stops us from opening the doors to our offerings again.
It stops us from growing. It stops us from serving all of the people that we want to serve. If we have this. These feelings and thoughts about launching our digital offers that are unhelpful and unsupportive to us, and if we're going about them in a way that is not aligned with ourselves, with the phase of where our offer is at the stage of our business, our specific business goals, and our.
[00:03:00] Exact ideal clients, and oftentimes what I see is, and I've done this myself as well, is following all of the formula and all of the steps that we see, all of the big people in the online space doing. Following the formulas that are being taught for launching. And you know what? I teach those formulas too.
They are the backbone of, of the whole process. However, we don't need to do all of them at all stages. And in fact, it's not a good idea. So one of the really big. Parts or reasons that people end up really burnt out from a launch is because they're doing a launch that is not a match for them, the actual stage and phase of their offer.
What do I mean by that? I mean, you [00:04:00] know, is your offer a new offer or is it a, a tried and tested offer that has been out there in the world for some time and now you're ready to scale it? Is it the first, second or third time that you're opening the doors to this offer? Do you have, uh, like social proof around it?
Where are you at in your business as far as your audience and your reputation in the space where that aligns with your offer? There are many different aspects that we need to look at to help you choose the best kind of launch. Um, and let's talk about what a launch really is as well. But I wanna give you.
Uh, a really great example of not letting a launch burn you out or take over your life, uh, or have you exhausted and overstressed and all of the things. And even while doing a launch, that would [00:05:00] be probably the classic. Kind of a launch that people think of when they think of launching in the digital space, which is running multiple live classes, uh, promoting into those, using Facebook ads, having the lead up, doing all the social media, having emails scheduled, all of the different moving parts, and at the same time having good sleep.
Being able to cook pancakes in the morning with the kids. Being, going on walks multiple times in the week, having a sauna, picking up the kids early for family time, feeling good, not feeling stressed. This was my client, she's been an open cart last week. She did her live, uh, lessons, so she's been in kind of two weeks of live launch mode.
After weeks of leading into that. We had our session right on [00:06:00] close cart day, and she was so calm. It was a session that really was the most spacious with the least things to actually go and do. It was not a sense of stress or burnout or any of the things we talked through. Any last actions that she could be taking?
We talked through follow up actions. Uh, we talked through her taking the time and space to relax and enjoy her family over the next few days. We talked through where she's at. There was not a sense of overwhelm, there was not a sense of stress, there was not a sense of burnout. And when I asked her how she was, she said, good, I feel good.
And this is the goal. So Tess and I are also peers inside Tracy Harris's Inner Circle Mastermind. And Tess shared a beautiful post in their listing what her week has been like. All of the things with the launch results to be [00:07:00] confirmed because even though she's closed the doors. It's not over my friend.
It's not over. There's a little follow up period, uh, which I supported her in having a plan for. But the thing is, she is feeling great and so she feels like she has won. She feels like she has. Just nailed the whole launch before we even look at, and yes, we do have some of the results as far as how many signups.
And yes, she does have signups, uh, and all of it is looking really good. She has assets that she's going to be able to reuse to be able to scale her online membership. Uh, she has had sales. She's had sales on her life classes, she's had sales from her open car, emails, she's had sales from her direct messaging, all of the things.
But actually that is, it is important. Of course, sales are important. We're running a business, but it's not the most important thing because what is the point of success And sales [00:08:00] if you feel completely burnt out, if you are curl up in the fetal position, if you are not able to live the rest of your life while that's happening.
Who wants that? We want to have both things. We want to have the successful launch and the higher conversions in a way that feels aligned and in a way where we are feeling good in ourselves and it's not taking over our life, right? There's no getting around the fact that when we are opening the doors to our office, there are more things to do.
There are extra layers happening to normal in our business because. Because we're opening the doors, so there's business as usual, and then we have this extra that we're opening our doors. And this brings me really to what? What is a launch? And let's just break away some of the things. A launch doesn't have to be multiple live classes.
A launch does not have to include a [00:09:00] live event. In fact, I did a podcast, um, episode answering the question, do I really need to do a live event? And I recommend you go have a listen to that. You don't have to do a live event. We do, however, need to be doing specific things and live events are perfect for doing and, and I guess hitting those particular marks that are necessary within a launch, especially when you want to reach a new audience.
However, so many people I speak to. They haven't even put their offer out there and they're scared to do it because they're scared of launching. We don't need to do all of jump through all the hoops and have all the bells and whistles when we're putting our first, the putting our offer out there for the first time, whether it's your first digital offer or whether it's just a new offer.
In fact, I generally don't recommend that for my client. We can do it with ease. We can do it in a way that is best matched for where you are at [00:10:00] in your life for where your offer is at for a match with your ideal people. Looking at, do you have a matching audience? What is the best way to invite them in?
How can you do that in the simplest way? What do you really wanna be getting out of this launch? Beyond the signups, if it's your first time, you wanna really be learning, you wanna be testing your messaging, you want to. Get people into your offer so that you can test out your offer and have some people in there to get that feedback from and to create that momentum and bring it to life and give you the confidence to keep on going.
There are so many layers to that first time and even the first few times, and so I just encourage you to, to be careful that you're thinking that launching is a specific thing. And if you want to explore what you know, opening the doors and launching into [00:11:00] your online offer could look like, whether it's a first time, whether it's your fifth time, whether it's your 10th time, uh, then reach out and let's have a chat about what that really could look like for you.
And also if you are. Worried about launching. If you are scared of launching, if you've got launch trauma, please know that it does not have to be that way. And you can open the doors into your digital offer with more ease in alignment in a way that is a match for you and your ideal people, and you do not have to end up in the fetal position on your bed for days afterwards.
And you can do all of that and have success in sales and conversion when you do it in the right aligned way. And that is what I absolutely love helping you with. So if you are interested in more ease, more alignment, more [00:12:00] conversions, all of the things we, when you open the doors into your online offerings and you are a woman in a service based business.
