[00:00:00] Let's talk about what I feel is a very underrated superpower. It is one I initially didn't consider or focus on at all or very little for a long time in my entrepreneurial journey, and that most definitely came back and bit me in the bottom. And it's something that I have been developing and developing and working on and increasing and focusing on more and more over the past.
Oh, more so I would say eight, nine years and more and more definitely over the last Mm, um, four, five years. And what is it? You might be wondering, what is this superpower that supports us as modern day super women? That we are who want to break [00:01:00] those cycles, create more, do be, have more of the things, and so often go about this by do, do, doing more, what is this?
You might ask It is capacity, capacity, capacity. In our. Energy in our physicality, in our emotional state, our mental capacity, because it is through having greater capacity in all of these areas that we are able to be. Do hold and have more. Not really through doing more it's capacity. We need to grow and support and sustain our capacity [00:02:00] on a daily basis, on a regular basis.
If you do a little bit of a check-in around your capacity right now, you can grab out a journal and a pen. I would always recommend you have one when you listen to my podcast episodes and take notes, and most importantly, take action and do a little bit of a self audit, whether you can write it down or whether you can do it mentally.
What is your capacity like? In your energy at the moment, or generally speaking, do you have extra capacity? Do you have space or are you at capacity or beyond capacity energetically, do you, where's your capacity at mentally? Are you, have you got that? That sense of space and, and abundance of mental capacity?
Or are you stretched thin, like you've got no more room, no more capacity. [00:03:00] Where is your capacity at as far as physically where, how much? It's, it's a little different to energy, but it's, you know, physically keeping up with, are you just keeping up with what you need to do? Or do you feel drained in your body?
What's your body's capacity right now for life? Have a little check-in. And emotionally, where are you at with your capacity emotionally? Do you feel strung out? Do you? Are you more reactive than responsive? Do you have extra bandwidth emotionally to deal with bigger things in life, other people's staff, or are you at or beyond capacity really emotionally with whatever you've got going on for you?
Do you have space to hold more when it comes to emotions, your emotions, other people's emotions and emotionally [00:04:00] in life and in business, and all of the things as that leader that you are, maybe a mother leader in business, all of the things. Where is your emotional capacity at? Is it depleted? Is it overflowing?
Because really as entrepreneurs. Leaders in so many areas in our life and with so many people depending on us, we need our capacity in all of these areas to be overflowing, not just topped up, not just refilled on a daily basis, but actually overflowing. If we want to be feeling great and if we want to be.
Creating more. If we want to be growing a business to be bigger, to be more. If we want to be having more in life, doing, being, having more. If we want to be making [00:05:00] changes, if we wanna be going to new levels or moving to that next level of self or next level of business, then we need to be overflowing. In our capacity, and this is really important because a lot of times, uh, and this has been me in the past, I was trying to grow a business and go after those goals and be, do, have more in a depleted state of capacity in really all of those areas.
And it doesn't work. It just doesn't work. We can keep on going for a long time, but that's where burnout happens. That's where breakdowns happen oftentimes, far too often, and I would say almost majority of women that I speak to are depleted in one of those areas and don't have that overflowing capacity.
And so what I want to encourage is to do that self audit, that [00:06:00] self check in on where your capacity is. Mentally, physically, emotionally, energetically, and then look at ways to support your capacity in all of those areas. And I know for me, and definitely it is helpful for everyone, it is in the daily practices.
The daily actions that we take, that we can develop, support and grow our capacity in all of those areas. For me, that came as a big change in becoming more of a morning person and setting myself up with a morning practice or routine. That supported all of those areas, nurtured all of those areas to be able to then once I was nurturing and supporting them, actually grow them.
So how can we go about nurturing and growing our capacity in those different areas if we think about those different [00:07:00] areas? Let's start with physically. If we want to live the biggest possible versions of ourselves and our life and create the biggest possible version of our business that we can dream of, we need to look after ourselves physically.
We need to have a physical capacity to go about that in our health, to show up in full health, which will lead into good energy and the capacity now energetically. But we need to be fueling ourselves with healthy food and making sure that we are prioritizing what we put into our body, prioritizing rest, prioritizing moving our body and exercising in a way that is supportive to our time in life and our goals, and growing our capacity.
For more health physically to hold and embody and support and sustain and grow our capacity in our physical health, in our body. We only have this one vessel, this [00:08:00] one body, and so if we don't look after it, that is going to beyond all of the health things, it is going to let us down in our quest for more greatness.
So. Looking after our health and creating overflowing capacity in our physical health is really essential for more success. When we look at energetically, how are you supporting your energy each day so that you have an abundance of energy? Yes, it's gonna come back to some of those things that I mentioned for our physical capacity.
Things like rest, you know, our energy is going to be very much affected by our physical health and state. Our nervous system. Our energy is very reliant on. Where our nervous system is at, how are you supporting your nervous system? Oh my gosh. I used to move through life with, in [00:09:00] a state of heightened nervous system all the time, rushing from one thing to the other.
Go, go, go, push, push, push, stay up, do more, you know, trying to do all of the things and not looking after my nervous system. Now after spending a number of years really looking to recalibrate that and make changes and do things differently, I am in a general state of calm nervous system, a sense of inner peace and inner calm.
And honestly, I used to look around and see some people who are like that and just be like, how really is that even real? Like, is that a real thing that people can be in a state like that? It doesn't seem very real to me. Well, on the other side of it, I can tell you it is possible, it is possible to create that sense of inner calm, that sense of inner peace, uh, and that calmed nervous system.
And when [00:10:00] we, you know, come to the challenges in life and in business, and that's the thing is as entrepreneurs, as business owners. We have to deal with challenges and problems and solving things and coming up with the solutions and challenging moments all the time. And you might wonder how do people who seemingly, you know, are successful and have all of the things, how are they able to seemingly deal with that so much more easily?
Or how do they get around? Uh, things that you might feel like it's so hard. Part of it is looking after their nervous system, making sure that they have capacity emotionally to be able to respond instead of reacting. And it's not that those things don't happen to them, it's not that hard. Things don't happen to them.
It's that they [00:11:00] respond and they literally feel differently to how you feel about either that same thing or a similar kind of thing. They feel differently and it affects them differently because of. How they are, their state, their capacity. And so this is really important, this emotional, this en, sorry, we're talking about energy capacity here.
Um, they all kind of tie together, but their energetic capacity is really important and our energy. Is really a choice. We can stimulate the energy that we want to be in. And again, a lot of this is going to come through from some of the physical things that we're going to do. The energy that we will have will come from moving our bodies.
It will come from, you know, also having energetic boundaries. What's the energy that we're allowing into our life, into [00:12:00] our space, into our mind, into, uh, our environment. What is our environment like energetically? Who are we spending? What's the energy we've got around us with the people that we have in our life?
Who are we choosing to put ourselves around? And you know, sometimes we are around people that don't have great energy and they might be family or things like that, and which we don't really have a choice about it, but we can choose our own internal energy, our own way of feeling, and we can choose not to let that affect us.
And look, this has been a big one for me because I'm someone who can, who walks into a room and I feel the energy of the room. I feel the energy from other people. And for a long time I didn't really realize that I would suddenly be feeling differently, feeling agitated, or feeling frustrated, or have these feelings.
And I'm thinking, where is this coming from? Um. And or you know, people won't necessarily say something [00:13:00] like, I know that somebody in this room has got something going on and they're not saying anything about it and I can feel it. And you know, so I've had to develop and I'm ongoing developing my ability to not take that on, to be in charge of my own energy and to.
To grow my capacity, to have an energy that is a match for the person I wanna be, the life I want to have, and the business that I want to lead. And we can do this through like our mindset, our environment, the people who are around us, but looking after our energetic capacity is extremely important. And then emotionally, and again, these really tie together, but emotionally.
What is our emotional capacity? If we are highly strong, if we are feeling heightened sense of emotion, most of the time, if we are at the end of our [00:14:00] tether, uh, we are not going to have the capacity to hold a next level of ourself, a next level of our life, a next level of our business. So when it comes to then looking after our.
Mental capacity. So when it comes to then looking after our emotional capacity, this is where it comes to our self-awareness. Taking time to turn inwards rather than always looking outwards for solutions. It's things like being able to catch unhelpful thoughts, unhelpful feelings. And redirect them. It's being able to build and create safe environments and connections.
It is having that healthy and supportive self-talk and self-belief and building that emotional safety and [00:15:00] support for ourselves and growing that in through that support and through some of those daily actions. Things like journaling, things like. Thinking time. Things like turning inwards, things like meditation, things like putting yourself in groups of people who have got good energy.
It's about emotional resilience, which is about feeling more without being overwhelmed or reactive, and we need to have extra mental capacity. Because we are the ones who are coming up with the ideas, solving the problems that are too hard for anybody else to solve. You know, it having to have that resilience, that mental resilience.
To go after the things, move through the fear, do the thing anyway, take action before we're ready. All of those things create, [00:16:00] really require that mental capacity. We need to develop that through thinking time, through regular learning, through things like mind dumping and journaling, things like. Getting good at being able to be singularly focused on a particular tar.
We also need to be able to have mental boundaries and protect things like our deep work time. So that we are able to grow our ability to be mentally focused, and again, I bring this back to a morning practice or a morning routine. We can develop and support all of these areas through practices, and it doesn't have to be a full hour.
It doesn't have to be two hours long. We can do simple practices on a daily basis that support our capacity. Energetically, emotionally, mentally, and physically, and it's when [00:17:00] we grow our capacity in all of these areas that we are able to do, be and have more. It is through growing our capacity. Not just doing, doing, doing, doing.
And this is why having an overflowing capacity through all of these areas. Is a superpower. Having enough rest, having a calm nervous system, taking time to think and turn inwards and know ourselves, moving our body, sitting down and eating lunch mindfully, something that is nutritious, that is gonna feed our brain and our body.
All of these things are superpower moves. They're not nice to have. They're not. If you've got time, they have not. When you've made [00:18:00] it, it's not when and if these are essential things and when you start flipping that script to, oh, I'll do that once I have achieved, or I'll push through and then I'll be able to give myself time for this or have time for that, or et cetera.
No. We need to do these things to get us there. If anything, I would love for you to take away these types of actions and linking things like eating well, moving your body, having thinking time, doing journaling, meditating, uh, you know, digging into your beliefs, understanding yourself, self-awareness, uh, learning time, all of these different practices.
They are essential and. If you want to move to that next level in yourself, in your life, in your business, then you need to be on a daily basis [00:19:00] looking after your capacity. And if you would like some support on how to do this through some simple morning practices. Let me know. I can share some of that with you.
If you wanna reach out and chat about this or share your experience or share an aha of like, oh my gosh, you've really flipped the way that I think about this. Please reach out. I'd love to chat with you. You can find me on [email protected] Mentor. I love talking all things, entrepreneurial development, business growth, aligned, holistic business, all of the things.
It is an absolute passion. It is what I support my clients with. So most of all, I hope that you will take action from this. Do your little capacity. It's not little. Do your capacity audit and look at. Maybe which one of those areas you could focus on. First of all, don't try to do all of the things. We don't need to do all of the things all at once.
That just feels like loading on our to-do list. Find the one that you feel like is [00:20:00] at lowest capacity and work on that one first. Maybe it's your physical health, maybe it's your energy levels, because once we have energy, all of the other things become easier. Have a look at which one needs focus and start increasing your capacity in that area, and then focus on the next one.
Think about little tiny micro moves you can do on a daily basis to support your capacity in all of those areas. All right, beautiful woman. I hope this has helped you. I hope that it has stimulated some action and I really hope that you'll do this check-in and make some moves in growing your capacity because it is a power move.
Till next week, I hope you have a beautiful day. See you next time.[00:21:00] [00:22:00] [00:23:00] [00:24:00]
Whether you can write it down or whether you can do it mentally. This could be a good little journaling exercise and do a little self-audit. Do hold and have more, not. Really through.
