[00:00:00] Episode 17. Hello and welcome to the Aligned and Thriving podcast, where ambitious female entrepreneurs come together to align systems, strategies, and self for sustainable success. Hello, my name is Jada and I'm your host. If you are new here, welcome. If you're a regular here, welcome back. Let's dive in to this week's episode.
On today's episode, I want to really draw some parallels between real life happenings and when we're looking at trying to progress or improve or update or grow our businesses, and specifically today in relation to when you are launching into your online offer. Whether that's a course, a membership, a [00:01:00] coaching program, even one-on-one packages and even masterminds.
When we are launching into those programs and we're opening the doors during that marketing period, either with a live or a prerecorded kind of launch event, or through organic marketing, through your social media and your emails, I talk a lot about. Making sure you understand your metrics, your data, the information from each stage and each one of the assets that you need to use when you're doing this process.
And just recently I went to a personal trainer. To get a new program because I have a goal of wanting to do unassisted pull-ups, and I was inspired by my business mentor Tracy Harris, around where she shared the actual process. [00:02:00] That when she went through to be able to reach this goal and she's now doing seven plus unassisted, uh, pull-ups and she hit her personal best just recently and was sharing around this and then the whole actual process she'd been through.
And what it made me realize from her sharing is that even though I'd had this goal to do pull-ups, because I've actually always had this goal, I've never been able to do it. Even when I used to be in the circus doing trapeze, um, when I was a young teenager, uh, I could never do a pull up. And I've always wanted to be able to do them.
And I feel like it's just this kind of, uh. You know, a really cool thing to be able to do. It's also a really great overall strength thing, and I just feel like if I really needed to at some point in my life to, I don't know, save myself, I wanna be able to pull my body weight up. And I also just feel like it's a really solid, specific goal that I'm going to be able to see progress in and track beyond overall wanting to be stronger.
And fitter and for [00:03:00] longevity for my lifestyle now to have energy and all of those things. So it's just a really specific goal to work towards. Anyway, I realized that I had been being very general in my training, uh, and it wasn't specific enough to. Progress me more quickly towards being able to do unassisted pull-ups.
Thanks Tracy. And it got me thinking about when we have our goals for a launch, for example, for when we open our doors and each time we welcome new people into our course, our membership, and we usually have. Financial goals, we have numbers, goals we have overall, um, you know, goals in retention and those types of things.
So we kind of know where we wanna go, but the question is, are we following a plan that is aligned and do we know what specific things to focus on to actually get us there? And [00:04:00] specifically in the best and quickest way. So I wanted to share around this because of drawing the parallels and I often draw parallels between real life things and business things.
But when I went and got this new program with the personal trainer, I actually, he actually did up three different programs so that I can do slightly different ones, three slightly different ones throughout the week. 'cause I like to go a minimum of three times a week to the gym. So that it would keep it interesting and I could work on different muscle groups and all that kind of thing.
He didn't specifically say, but my analytical kind of brain wrapped around the information and the programs that he gave me and how my body felt and which ones felt the hardest when he gave me the new programs after I let him know my specific goal that I wanted my programs to more specifically help me towards being able to do those unassisted pull-ups.[00:05:00]
When I felt my body, when I looked at those programs, when I saw what he was giving me and what I, when I felt what was hardest, I could see where the gaps were, where my weakest points were, where the areas that I needed to focus on most, which areas were letting me down the most from being able to do my goal of the unassisted pull up.
Now, he didn't specify. That these were the gaps, but obviously he knows how to put together a plan or in this situation, a program that is going to work the specific muscles that need to be developed to be able to do the unassisted pull-ups. And so analyzing this as I do. I was able to break that down and identify that my shoulder strength was definitely letting me down.
Like all of the little muscles and edge bits and all of the [00:06:00] things being totally un you know, non not the right languaging, being that I'm not, not a fitness person. Um, but all of the muscles around my shoulders and the bigger ones, but this, my whole area, I'd been working other. Muscles in my arms getting stronger, but not specifically around the shoulders and my upper back.
Also, my grip strength. So I would say the number one biggest area that was letting me down in being able to pull myself up unassisted was my shoulder strength. And then second of all, my grip strength. He's got me holding onto the bar for 30 seconds, then pausing and then going back. Well, I can't hold onto the bar for 30 seconds yet my hands slip off, so I need to build my grip strength and my forearms.
So yes, there's gonna be other areas that I need to strengthen, but I can see from the difficulty of the movements that he's given me or out of those movements, which are most [00:07:00] difficult, where I feel sorest in my body. Uh, and which ones I struggle with the most. I can see therefore, which areas are the weakest link and that I need to focus the most on in following these.
And so I thought this was a really, uh, good example of a real life situation where. I've had to call in somebody who is specialized in that, who's going to be able to give that plan and see and know what kind of plan there needs to be in place for me to reach the goals that I have. And this is the same kind of thing with your launches and different areas in your business.
Speaking about launches right now and. W why when we, we focus on the outcome that we want. So say the goal is a set number of new members or new participants in your course or, and therefore a financial goal. Do you know the areas [00:08:00] within the process that you have your launch of opening your doors, which are letting you down the most?
Which are your weakest links, your weakest parts, the parts that aren't performing best or aren't performing well, that are letting you down and not supporting you towards your goal? Do you know that? And if you don't, this is why it's so important to be looking at your data, at your metrics. And if you're new here, uh, just send me a DM on Instagram, jada.business mentor, and I'll send you the link to download my launch Essential data guide, uh, because this is gonna help you to track what you really need to be tracking and therefore see which parts to focus on.
But even sometimes when you have all that information, if you don't know how to read that and understand which part to focus on to improve your progress towards your launch goals, [00:09:00] then you may be continuing to focus on an area. So let's break it down in launch terms as opposed to shoulders and grip strength and et cetera.
So the really big main areas are how much traffic are you getting towards a launch event, like how many people are actually seeing that you have this event on how many people are landing on your opt-in page, where they can potentially opt in to join you for your launch event, whether that is recorded or it's live.
And then how many of those people are actually clicking through and opting in, because sometimes you think that you just need to get more people seeing the page, but if your conversion on that page isn't good, then before you focus on getting more people to the page, it would be a good idea to improve that page so that the conversion is higher.
Because then without having to work harder to get more people to the page, you'd already have more people signing up. Or for example, [00:10:00] sometimes this whole lead in this whole funnel, this whole customer journey towards your launch event is working well, but you haven't really refined and optimized your actual launch event, and you're not nailing some of the key aspects that need to be within a launch event to create more connection and conversion, and therefore, your sales on your live event aren't high.
And so you've put all this effort into bringing people towards that event, but you're not yet able to really convert into your offer. Or maybe it is that the way that you are presenting your offer, describing your offer, talking about your offer, the sales page for your offer isn't optimized yet. And so it's that point that's letting you down.
Or for one of my clients recently, we could very quickly identify when we looked at all of the metrics and data and information post-launch, [00:11:00] we could see that the, if we could improve, if we were just gonna focus on one thing for the next launch, then the best thing to focus on for her is. Getting more people who have opted in for her launch event to actually show up live because she had really good sales conversion and she had her ads performed well.
Uh, she had good numbers signing up, but the number of people turning up to the live event was low, so we could quickly see that. That was one of the core areas to focus on to improve her results without even having to necessarily spend more on ads or work harder to get more people to sign up if she got the same number of people signing up.
But this time we could get more people to actually attend the event, and she kept her. Sales conversions, what they were last time or similar straight away. She'd have more people, and this [00:12:00] is because we've got the data and because I helped her to actually read it and understand it and know what to focus on.
So many times, if it's the outcome isn't what you want, it's like me kind of going, oh, that's it. I can never do pull up. Because I haven't been able to achieve it yet. Well, my plan wasn't right and I didn't do enough of the right exercises, enough times to build the right muscles and strengthen all the muscles I need to be able to do pull-ups.
I didn't know my gap was my shoulders and my grip strength, for example, and maybe you don't know where your gap is to be able to improve your launches. So the place to start is first of all, tracking your data. So once again, reach out to me via Instagram DM Jada Business Mentor, and let me know. Just send me the word data and I'll send you my essential data tracker.
For launches, [00:13:00] that's the place to start. And then if you'd like more support, that's when I can do a diagnostic, a launch diagnostic for you so that you know where those gaps are and you know what to focus on in your next launch. Not everything, just one to three things to improve your next launch, to take you towards your launch.
Goals. Hopefully this combination of talking about a real life example of not being able to see these gaps for ourselves is helpful in painting that picture to be able to understand these things for your launches. If you've got questions, please reach out. This is. Exactly what I help my aligned launch clients with, uh, and inside my containers.
So if you'd like some more support with this, absolutely reach out. I'm also happy to have a chat and learn about what your biggest challenges and your goals are. We can talk about what you need to be focusing on [00:14:00] to reach your launch goals. All right. I hope this has been helpful and I look forward to sharing more with you next week on the podcast.
Have a great rest of your day and week. Bye for now.
